About Quilters Take a Moment

Quilters Take a Moment is the 2020 alternative to our biennial fundraiser typically held in the heart of New York City at the Fashion Institute of Technology. This year, to keep everyone safe, we presented Quilters Take a Moment with the same program planned for QTM with added social breaks. We can’t be together in Manhattan, but we’re still taking a moment to be together, learn together, and celebrate quilts together.

Recordings of the live portions of Quilters Take a Moment are now available. Register now to be a part of amazing conversations, thoughtful presentations, and stunning displays of quilts.

The Quilt Alliance is the only nonprofit solely dedicated to documenting, preserving and sharing the history of quilts and quiltmakers and QTM is our biggest fundraising event, generously sponsored by industry and foundation support.

Laugh breaks, dance breaks, and fun!

We’re all wary of Zoom fatigue and we wanted to make sure our live event was refreshing and spirit-lifting, so we also included time to laugh (comedy break with Mel Beach), enjoy music (performance by Ricky Tims) and dance (at the end of each live program we turned everyone’s camera on wanted to dance it out with a quilt. We put on our red shoes, picked out a favorite quilt and danced the blues together!
